Wholehearted Prayer
Use the below prayer as a guide to having a conversation with Jesus.

Father God, Jesus, Holy Spirit,

I come to You with awe and wonder…

I know that You are near, You are good, and You are at work—

even now.

I love you with all my heart!

I give to you my thoughts, my passions, my desires, my appetites, my affections, my purposes, endeavors, and emotions.

I thank you for all wisdom and knowledge, and intelligence that only comes from you! I give you my will and my character as an offering to you!

I lay my fears and worries at your feet.

Teach me to walk with You today...

Jesus, I come humbly and boldly,

because You have made the way for me.

Speak to me now,

not as a distant king,

but as a present friend.

I am listening.

(Pause. Breathe. Wait.)

Choose one area to ask and listen (repeat as many times as you want) and feel free to ask your own questions:

IDENTITY

Jesus, who do You say that I am—right now?

Jesus do you see my heart?

Do you know the condition of my heart?

How do I guard my heart?

Knowing my heart, is it too much for you to handle?

Who do you say that I am?

PURPOSE

Jesus, what have You put before me today?

What deserves my attention and obedience?

Jesus do you see the deep purposes of my heart?

Jesus what have you created me to accomplish?

Jesus what do I need to put my hands or mind to today to fulfill the purposes you have created in my heart? Jesus what’s next?

RELATIONSHIP

Jesus, who are You inviting me to love more fully? Show me how.

Jesus how do I love my wife?

Jesus how do I love my kids?

Jesus how do I love my neighbors?

Jesus how do I love my coworkers?

Jesus how do I love my leaders and those in authority over me?

FUTURE

Jesus, what are You forming in me that I cannot yet see?

Jesus what do you have for my future?

Jesus will you cleanse my heart?

(Wait. Receive. Don’t force.)

Jesus, I trust You with every part of my heart.

I choose to walk with You today.

Thank You for meeting me here.

Amen.
